About me
Review and discuss the Covenant Christian after-action report. This session will empower school staff with strategies for mitigating an active killer attack. Participants will leave this session with actionable knowledge and a renewed confidence in their ability to protect students and staff in the face of evolving threats.
With decades of experience in school partnerships and emergency response, Dan integrates real-world applications of Risk Management Assessment and Active Shooter–Hostile Threat Response strategies. His background includes extensive service in fire rescue and the federal emergency response system. As a Rescue Specialist with Missouri Task Force One (MO-TF1), he has been deployed to national disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the Joplin Tornado, Hurricane Harvey, and Hurricane Helene. These high-pressure experiences deeply inform his approach to school safety and mass casualty preparedness.
Dan, an experienced School Safety Advocate and eleven-year service partner with SafeDefend, brings professional insight and personal experience. Dan has engaged directly with responders and families affected by tragedies at Sandy Hook Elementary, Stoneman Douglas High School, Marshall County High School, and Covenant Christian School.
