KSDE Safe and Supportive Schools Conference

Sarah Lancaster is an Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. She is in her fourth year at Fort Hays and currently serves as the Program Coordinator for the School Counseling Program. Previously Sarah spent 9 years in public education at USD 305 in Salina, KS; working for 7 years as a middle school counselor and 2 years as the Social Emotional Specialist for the district. During her time in the school setting she implemented restorative practices, a trauma informed approach, as a way to improve school climate, teach social emotional learning, and build community among students and staff.
