About me
Gregory M. Vecchi, Ph.D., is the Director of Training at SafeDefend LLC, where he develops and deploys research- and evidence-based training programs in threat assessment, prevention, and response. These programs provide clients with proactive and reactive options that give them the confidence and skills to manage and survive a targeted violence threat. Dr. Vecchi is a U.S. Army veteran with over 30 years of law enforcement experience. He is a retired supervisory Special Agent, FBI Behavioral Science Unit Chief, and a career FBI negotiator.
Dr. Vecchi has extensive experience in teaching and training. He is a Professor of Criminal Justice, Criminology, and Homeland Security and was a full-time instructor at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He is a Certified Master Trainer in Threat Evaluation and Reporting with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Dr. Vecchi is the author of a book on active killer threat assessment entitled Fatal Grievances: Forecasting and Assessing Active Killer Threats in School, Campus, and Workplace Settings.
